NWS: Quiet start to day, but afternoon will bring risk of thunderstorms again

The National Weather Service says that the region has one more chance for strong to severe thunderstorms, as warm, humid air gets ready to exit.

Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop in Western New York, push east into Central New York, and in that process could bring gusty or damaging winds.

Heavy rain could also trigger localized flooding.

The most-favorable period of time for development is between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.

The National Weather Service will be publishing alerts to the below thread. Follow throughout the day for the latest.
