Troopers: 90 lbs of marijuana found during traffic stop in Wayne County

New York State Police report the arrest of a 27-year-old Hollis resident following a traffic stop in Wayne County, which yielded more than 90 lbs of marijuana.

The traffic stop occurred on State Route 104 in the town of Sodus. The operator of the vehicle was identified as Torique Watson, 27, who was found to be in possession of a small quantity of marijuana in the front of the vehicle.

Troopers said that a strong odor of marijuana was coming from the vehicle. Search of the car resulted in the location of approximately 90 lbs of marijuana in separate vacuum sealed bags.

Watson was charged with one count of first-degree criminal possession of marijuana and second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana.

He was transported and released on his own recognizance.
