The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that deputies charged a Waterloo driver following a crash on Border City Road, where a vehicle collided with a house.
Deputies say Alexander Capalongo, 26, was traveling west on Border City Road when he fell asleep at the wheel and lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle then left the roadway and traveled through multiple yards, before crashing into a home.
Investigation determined that Capalongo was under the influence of a drug. He was arrested and charged with driving while ability impaired by a drug, aggravated unlicensed operation, criminal possession of a controlled substance, an other violations.
He’s scheduled to appear in Waterloo Town Court at a later date. The vehicle sustained heavy damage and was towed from the scene.
The house sustained minor damage and no injuries were reported by the property owners.
