Deputies: Two drivers ticketed, three sent to hospital after crash in Waterloo

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports the investigation of a two-car personal injury crash in the area of State Route 96 and Pre Emption Street in the town of Waterloo.

It happened on Wednesday around 4 a.m. when Jeffery Disanto, 36, of Clifton Springs was traveling east on Route 96 when he struck the side of a vehicle being operated by Katie Schroeder, 19, of Seneca Falls, who was traveling south on Pre Emption.

Deputies say Schroeder failed to stop at the sign at the intersection, which caused the crash.

Three passengers in her vehicle, identified as 19-year-old Brandon Pealo, 22-year-old Kennedy Clark, and a 15-year-old suffered an array of minor injuries. All three were transported to Geneva General Hospital.

Deputies say Schroeder was ticketed for failing to stop, and Disanto was also ticketed for operating a vehicle without a license.

Both will appear in Waterloo Town Court at a later date. The vehicles involved had to be towed from the scene, deputies added.
