Naples man threatened to harm off-duty trooper in Canandaigua, then tried to punch officer responding to disturbance

The Canandaigua Police Department reports the arrest of a Naples man following an investigation into a disturbance at a Lakeshore Drive business.

Rodney Burgess, 51, was charged with two counts of menacing and disorderly conduct after the incident.

While police were on-scene investigating, Burgess mad threats of physical harm to an off-duty New York State Trooper who was also on-scene as a witness.

Burgess then approached a Canandaigua Police Officer and attempted to punch him in an unprovoked attack.

Burgess was subsequently arrested and issued an appearance ticket.
