Police: Active meth lab busted on Madison Ave. in Ithaca on Friday

The Ithaca Police Department says they secured a mobile meth lab in the 500 Block of Madison Avenue on Friday.

Around 12:30 p.m. police were patrolling the area of Second and Monroe streets when they observed suspicious activity.

They stopped to speak with a subject in the 500 block of Madison Street by Conway Park and learned that the person had stolen two packages from a porch nearby.

It was also determined that the person was in possession of a mobile meth lab known as a “One Pot.”

Due to the toxic and explosive nature of a ‘One Pot’ the area was secured and residents were notified.

Police say members of the CCERT team and Ithaca Fire Department assisted.

The “One Pot” Methamphetamine Lab was deactivated and secured as evidence without further incident. It remains under investigation.

Police did not identify the individual involved.
