The Bristol Harbour Resort building overlooking Canandaigua Lake in South Bristol has been leveled.
Owners Todd and Laura Cook bought the property in 2016. They had invested millions of dollars into the property.
However, in May the two announced that the resort would be shut down; and that the property would be turned private.
Before that the Cooks had attempted to build the ‘Everwilde Inn & Spa’, located nearby. Those plans were eventually scrapped after extensive local push back.
Among the changes that had been made at the property – improvements to the golf course, renovations to the restaurant, hotel, and wedding venue, as well as other long-term efforts.
The couple cited the Coronavirus Pandemic, as well as local push back to similar projects as being deterrents to keeping the property operating.
