Schumer calls for more post office funding, says jobs could be lost in the Finger Lakes

While President Donald Trump doubles down on his efforts to block additional funding for the U.S. Post Office – Senator Chuck Schumer stopped in Western New York to voice his support on Thursday.

He was in Rochester talking about the number of jobs in the Finger Lakes that would be lost if the postal service continues to fail.

Schumer says if the Trump Administration has it way 2,200 postal jobs here in our region could be gone. The vast majority of those cuts will be letter carriers.

He’s been lobbying for more funding to keep post offices across the U.S. running.

Schumer blames President Trump and new Postmaster General Louis DeJoy for not only slowing the mail delivery system down but also for trying to eliminate the use of absentee ballots in the upcoming Presidential Election.
