The Ithaca Police Department reports that they are investigating a shooting that occurred around 6:40 p.m. in the area of W. Clinton and S. Meadow streets in Ithaca.
A 911 call was placed by a resident in the area who heard gunshots. Police responded and located a male victim in his 30s with a gunshot wound to his lower body.
The victim, who was found near the road, was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
IPD was assisted by the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office and Cornell University Police Department.
Police say the incident is in the early-stages of investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact dispatch at (607) 272-3245.
