Firefighters rescued a fallen hiker at Six Mile Creek Gorge on Saturday.
The incident occurred during the evening hours and required the Rope Rescue Team to help the man, who fell from a steep narrow trail close to the dam.
The man, who was not identified, suffered ankle and hip injuries.
Firefighters used a rope rescue system to raise him back up to the main trail. He was then carried up another steep embankment.
It’s the second rescue that the Ithaca Fire Department has done this summer in that area.
