On Thursday at approximately 4:50 a.m. the Ithaca Police Department was called to the Ithaca Farmers Market on Third Street for a possible drowning.
Officers found a 58-year-old male being held onto by two bystanders in the water off the edge of the dock.
One officer jumped into the water to assist the man who was unconscious as several people pulled him from the water.
Bangs Ambulance personnel were also on scene and helped getting the man from the water.
Police say the unidentified male is in critical condition at this time. The investigation remains open. Anyone with information can call 607-272-9973.
