A staff member at Penn Yan Manor has tested positive for the Novel Coronavirus, or COVID-19.
As result, visitation will be halted for the next few weeks.
While window visits will be allowed, in-person visitation will be prevented per the state’s guidance.
The staff member that tested positive will have to stay out of work until the virus has passed.
In a statement from Penn Yan Manor, officials said they are continuing to follow all CDC procedures and guidelines.
“The residents have also been able to keep adjusting well to their new routines and reality,” the statement notes. “Most unfortunately, the positive result does force us to stop our in-person visitation, which we had just started.”
