A Canandaigua man was arrested after firing a pistol on his property that resulted in a bullet entering a neighboring residence and lodging in a wall over one-year ago.
Ontario County Sheriff Henderson reports that on Friday, July 24, Eric. J. Dey, age 56 of 6290 Goff Road in Canandaigua, was arrested for criminal possession of a firearm and reckless endangerment in the second defree following an investigation into events that transpired on July 7, 2019.
According to investigators, Dey was shooting a .45 caliber pistol on his property that was not on his pistol permit and a round from said firearm entered a neighboring residence, shattering through an upstairs window and lodging in a wall. The neighbors were home at the time of the shooting but they were not injured.
Dey was issued an appearance ticket to appear before the Canandaigua town Court at a later date.
