Geneva Snow Cats blow lead late in 7-5 loss to Cardinals

Santino Rosso (Hofstra) highlighted a six-run sixth as the Cardinals came from behind for their third win in four games. Rosso connected on a two-out grand slam to give the Cardinals their first lead since the third inning. Drew Bailey (Mercyhurst) and Seth Vigneri (Cortland) reached on errors to lead off the inning. Ty Coy (VCU) singled, and Frank McCabe (Hilbert) drove in a run with a base hit. The Cardinals scored their other run in the bottom of the first when Vigneri drove in Stephen Kemp (Medaille) with a double. Vigneri finished the game 1-for-3 with two RBI. Frank McCabe (Hilbert) came into pinch-hit and singled in his lone at-bat. McCabe finished with an RBI and a run scored.

Joshua Ferris (Finger Lakes Community College) pitched the first three and two-thirds innings. Drew Delaney (Slippery Rock) picked up the win hurling the final three and one-third innings. Delaney struck out three, walked two, and gave up zero hits. The Snow Cats scored the majority of the runs in the top of the fourth. Cam Vozel (Gannon) started the scoring with an RBI single. Matt Smith (Ithaca) picked up an RBI with a sacrifice fly to add to the big inning for the Snow Cats. Gil Merod (Ithaca) drew a bases-loaded walk that scored Branden Myers (St. Bonaventure) to cap the inning. Merod finished the game with two RBI. Mark Trotta (William & Mary) went 2-for-2 with a run scored, and Vozel ended the game 1-for-2 with an RBI and run scored.
