Hours after working a house fire together in Ontario County two members of the Oaks Corners Fire Department were married on Saturday.
The department shared congratulations on Facebook for Deputy Chief Zachery Rey and EMS Captain Danielle Rey on their wedding.
The department was dispatched to a house fire on Pre-Emption Street around 10:55 a.m. Zach left his wedding preparations to respond to the scene and served as the Incident Commander for the first two hours.
After hearing a request for a second alarm, knowing that temperatures were in the 90s with high-humidity, Danielle also responded and led EMS and rehab at the scene.
Both were relieved by other officers by 1 p.m. and were married at 4 p.m.
“The members of the Oaks Corners Fire Department would like to thank Zach and Danielle for their dedication to their community and to their fellow emergency responders. We are very happy for you, and very proud of you,” the department said on Facebook.
