The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Lyons man following an investigation into a disturbance.
Deputies arrested John Kostiw, 39, for assault and obstruction of governmental administration.
The charges stem from an investigation into a disturbance where it was alleged that Kostiw pushed another male that caused the individual to fall into a window and suffer a laceration in the back of his head.
He then got on top of the male victim and repeatedly punched him in the face causing injury.
While deputies tried to take Kostiw into custody he did not comply, resulting in the obstruction charge.
He was transported to the Wayne County Jail and will answer the charges at a later date.
Days after the initial arrest, he was charged with contempt for violating an active court order.
