Geneva Snow Cats remain only undefeated team in ICBL

AJ Gartland (Alfred State) dominated on the mound, and the Snow Cats maintained their lead in the Rochester Division West. Gartland struck out 13 in six innings of work and improved to 2-0 on the season. The southpaw retired the first 11 batters he faced before surrendering a two-out single in the fourth inning. He allowed only three balls out of the infield. Matt Smith (Ithaca) drove in the first run of the game with an RBI double scoring Lachlan Charles (Cornell) to give the Snow Cats a 1-0 lead after five. Mark Trotta (William & Mary) went 2-for-3 on the night and scored a run off an error in the sixth inning. Cam Vozel (Gannon) added one in the sixth inning, pushing the lead to 3-0 with an RBI single. Gil Merod (Ithaca) put up an insurance run in the seventh driving in a run with a single to right field. Rojo Prarie (William & Mary) put on the finishing touche striking out the side to close out the seventh.

Ryan Demitrovic (Alfred State) threw the first four innings for the Flyin Fish. Demitrovic got out of a fourth-inning jam by forcing a flyout to centerfield to keep the game 0-0 after four. Nate Sanderson (Hilbert) got the lone hit for the Flyin Fish.

The Snow Cats take on the Flyin Fish again on Thursday night in Penfield as they try to stay undefeated and improve to 6-0.
