A city-run ambulance service is on the back burner.
According to The Citizen, the idea that was originally floated in February to create a municipal service have been held due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The City has contracted with TLC Emergency Medical Services for the last several years. That contract had been extended a number of times, but ahead of the most-recent extension – the City looked at other options.
However, the old deal was once again extended earlier this year after other proposals were rejected.
Officials do not expect any movement on this issue in the coming weeks or months.
