Deputies: Steuben man possessed ‘assault-style’ weapon, high-capacity loading devices during trespassing incident

The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a 54-year-old Avoca resident following an investigation into a trespass complaint.

Craig Burlew, 54, possessed a quantity of methamphetmine, an assault-style rifle, and high capacity weapon loading devices, according to deputies, who announced the arrest on Monday.

Burlew was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Burlew was arraigned and released.
