Police: Phelps man violates protective order, attacks person in Canandaigua

Deputies say a 26-year-old Phelps man violated a court order and attacked a person in Canandaigua.

Chad Featherly, 26, was arrested on several charges following two separate incidents at a Camelot Court residence.

Investigators say Featherly was repeatedly sending text messages to a person at the location who was protected by a court order.

While police were attempted to locate Featherly several weeks after the initial incident – he went to the residence and attacked the same person. The victim was choked, according to police, who said Featherly fled the scene.

He was ultimately taken into custody and charged with felony criminal contempt, criminal contempt as a misdemeanor, criminal obstruction of breathing, and harassment.

Featherly was transported to the Ontario County Jail.
