Two restaurants in Ithaca close permanently due to COVID-19

A pair of restaurants in Ithaca will not reopen after the Coronavirus Pandemic, and it appears that largely due to the virus itself.

Ten Forward Cafe and John Thomas Steakhouse will remain closed after struggling over the last several months.

“At the end of the day, the safety and well-being of our customers as well as our staff was always of my father’s primary concern,” John Thomas Steakhouse manager Devin Kelly said.

Ten Forward Cafe hit their three-year anniversary in March. Owner Tammie Olsefski said business was struggling before COVID-19 hit and wasn’t sure how much longer the struggle would last, according to CNYCentral.com.

“It was a really hard decision, but I made my final decision like a couple weeks ago and then decided to announce this week,” she said.
