Auburn Community Hospital abruptly changed course on Tuesday, announcing that it wouldn’t open for visitors this week.
As of last week, the hospital had planned to resume visitation on Wednesday. However, even with restrictions in place to maintain safe visitation at the hospital – officials delayed the move.
“Throughout this pandemic, ACH’s first priority is to protect the health and safety of our patients and employees. As such, we think it is prudent to take some time to monitor the situation,” said Scott Berlucchi, president and CEO of Auburn Community Hospital.
Things will be re-evaluated next week, according to officials.
The main concern lies in the Fourth of July holiday weekend, according to Berlucchi. Officials are concerned that there will be a spike in cases after the holiday weekend.
