Wrong way driver on Rt. 104 in Wayne County had license suspended 14 times

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Greece man after responding to a report of a motorist traveling westbound in the eastbound lane of traffic on State Route 104 in the town of Ontario.

Patrick Garbutt, 31, was charged with felony unlicensed operation, driving while intoxicated, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, and a number of vehicle and traffic violations.

Deputies say they located the vehicle in the parking lot of Charlie’s Restaurant and initiated an investigation. Garbutt was found to be intoxicated and had 14 suspensions and revocations on his license.

Deputies took him into custody without incident. He was released to answer the charges at a later date.
