On Saturday around 7 a.m. two Ithaca residents called for police to assist with a person found to be burglarizing their home.
Officers responded to the residence in the 100 block of North Plain Street. A description of the suspect was provided and other officers were able to locate an individual who matched the description within two blocks of the incident.
After a brief pursuit, an individual was taken into custody.
Police identified that suspect as Michael LaMontain, 25, of Lansing, who was charged with second-degree burglary and fourth-degree grand lareceny.
Police say he was found to be in possession of property from a series of burglaries that had been reported in the city of Ithaca over the last several weeks.
He was arraigned and held on $5,000 cash bail.
