Police say a 32-year-old Rochester resident was charged with endangering the welfare of a child after an incident on South Main Street in the city of Canandaigua.
Officers say Steven Gray, 32, engaged in a verbal confrontation with another person at the location in the presence of a small child. Gray then left that location in a vehicle, driving recklessly, at excessive speeds with the child in the vehicle.
Police say the child was also not buckled into a child safety seat.
Gray was arrested for endangering the welfare of a child and will answer the charge at a later date.
