Ontario County Sheriff Kevin Henderson reports a fatal crash involving a Rochester Police Department officer.
It happened around 8 p.m. in Canandaigua on Woolhouse Road when a pickup truck struck a bicyclist.
The pickup truck struck the cyclist, identified as Aaron Colletti, 44, of Canandaigua who was traveling the same direction as the pickup truck driver.
Henderson says Colletti succumbed to his injuries from the crash at the scene. Meanwhile, his son, who was also riding a bicycle there was knocked off of it. However, he only sustained minor injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
Henderson identified the driver of the pickup truck as 70-year-old James Miller, of Canandaigua.
Cheshire Fire Department and Canandaigua EMS responded to the scene. The Sheriff’s Office did not believe alcohol was a factor.
