Deputies: Driver still listed in critical condition after serious crash in Seneca County

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office has provided an update on the crash along County Road 129 in Seneca County over the weekend.

It happened during the early-morning hours on Sunday south of County Road 139. Deputies say the crash involved one vehicle, and when they arrived – the operator was stuck inside. The vehicle was on its side in a ditch along County Road 129.


The driver was identified as Lauren Parker, 25, of Lodi, who was pulled from the vehicle by firefighters from Ovid and Interlaken fire dpeartments. She was treated at the scene by South Seneca Ambulance and airlifted by Life Net to Upstate Medical Center.

Parker sustained broken bones, and a head injury. Deputies say she remains in critical condition. Deputies say the passenger, identified as 30-year-old David Gelatt, of Romulus was transferred from Geneva General Hospital to Strong Memorial Hospital for a head injury.

The crash remains under investigation, deputies say.
