New York State has turned down Marcus Whitman Central School’s attempt at hosting a ‘socially distant’ graduation ceremony.
Superintendent Chris Brown says they are now left going back to the drawing board.
“We received information from the department of health. Unfortunately, socially-distanced, in-person graduations were not approved,” he said in a message to the community.
“We did the best we could to provide an outdoor graduation experience – and through no fault of ours we need to change plans,” Brown added.
