Eight new cases of COVID-19 at nursing home in Clifton Springs

Officials at a nursing home in Ontario County are working with facility operators of the Clifton Springs Nursing Home to investigate eight newly reported COVID-19 cases.

Eight residents and one employee have tested positive and more testing is underway, according to a press release. Rochester Regional Health, which operates the nursing home is working with the State Department of Health, and CDC guidelines to implement further measures to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

The facility provides specialized services that include skilled nursing and restorative care services for chronically disabled and medially complex residence.

Jill Graziano, VP of Operations for Rochester Regional Health Extended Care said they are taking the positive tests seriously. “Our priority is the health and safety of every person associated with Clifton Springs Nursing Home by providing the highest level of quality professional nursing services,” she said. “We are working closely with Ontario County Public Health to make sure all residents receive the best care possible and that our staff is safe.”

They say the investigation into the outbreak is ongoing.
