Firefighters battle blaze at old church in Romulus (photos)

Firefighters were called to the scene of a fire at an old church in Seneca County.

The scene was along Seneca Street in Romulus near the post office. The property is now a residency, according to local reports.

While extent of the damage was not clear, witnesses tell us that Romulus, Ovid, Seneca Falls, Canoga, Hector, Lodi, Trumansburg, Waterloo, Magee, Fayette, and Varick fire departments were on-scene.

New York State Police and the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office were as well.

The fire was reportedly caused by an electrical issue.
