Traffic stop leads to DWI, other charges in Wayne County

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of an East Rochester man following a traffic stop in Williamson.

Ricky Simon, 54, was stopped by deputies on State Route 104 and Salmon Creek Road, and through roadside investigation was found to be intoxicated.

Simon was transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office for further testing and he refused to provide a breath sample.

Deputies say he was charged with DWI, refusal to submit a breath sample, consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle, using a cellphone while driving, failure to keep right, obstructed view, and failure to notify DMV of an address change.

Simon was released on traffic tickets and will appear in Ontario Town Court at a later date.
