A Fairport woman turned herself in after throwing a package behind a local police department.
Police say that a concerned citizen reported observing a female throw a package behind the Macedon Police Department on Wayneport Road.
It had a handwritten message to law enforcement on it, which resulted in the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad being called to the scene.
Several hours later it was rendered safe.
Police say the contents of the package were used to continue the investigation. They noted that following the incident there was no risk to public safety. However, a 35-year-old Fairport resident, identified as Lacey Termini was charged with placing a false bomb or hazardous substance, as well as criminal nuisance, both felonies.
It’s not clear what was in the package.
