Cayuga County is on pace to lose over $3 million due to the Coronavirus Pandemic and economic shutdown that followed.
Earlier this week, officials gave a presentation outlining the situation, which was reported by the Auburn Citizen.
They reported that sales tax revenue was down 27% from the prior year.
Altogether, the losses could exceed #3.3 million in sales tax. In total, it would mean the disappearance of $4.6 million in total cash that would otherwise be used to fund the county.
