Despite record high unemployment, dealerships see increase in car sales

Auto sales are on the rise – despite record high unemployment and the Coronavirus Pandemic.

Brad McAreave, who leads the Rochester Auto Dealers Association says sales are picking up for the first time in weeks.

“We have all this pent up demand out there right now, and I think we’re gonna see it come back into our showrooms here over the course of the next month or two,” says McAreavey. “I think the dealers are going to be very busy.”

Any holiday weekend is typically a busy one for car dealerships.

Right now, they are operating by appointment only. Staffers are wearing masks, and constantly disinfecting surfaces at the dealerships.
