Deputies: Rochestser man taken into custody after four-county pursuit in Schuyler, Seneca, Tompkins, and Chemung

The Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office says a Rochester man led authorities on a pursuit through four counties on Sunday.

Around 10 a.m. deputies attempted to stop a 2012 Ford Focus on State Route 224 in the town of Montour for traffic violations.

The vehicle didn’t stop, and continued through Schuyler, Chemung, Tompkins and Seneca counties. The operator, identified as Aaron Mason Jr., 27, of Rochester eventually crashed the vehicle in the village of Trumansburg.

Officials say that Mason struck two patrol vehicles, which were owned by the Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police.

After the incident, Mason was released on a number of traffic tickets.
