Ovid man charged with forcible touching, endangering welfare of child

State Police arrested a 43-year-old Ovid man over the weekend following an investigation into sexual abuse of a 14-year-old victim.

Mose A Wengerd, 43, was charged with forcible touching and endangering the welfare of a child, according to state police.

Wegert is accused of forcibly touching the intimate parts of a 14-year-old victim in Ovid on several occasions.

He was arraigned and is scheduled to appear in court on June 23rd.

An order of protection was issued for the victim. State Police say the investigation remains active.
