Deputies: Fast response by local firefighters saved property, livestock in Ontario County

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports that first responders were called to 3379 Seneca Castle Road for a skid steer on fire.

Upon arrival, deputies observed a newer model skid steer engulfed in flames within feet of a large pole barn.

The fire was extinguished quickly preventing it from spreading to the barn and nearby cattle.

Deputies say fast response by the Seneca Castle Fire Department saved property and potentially livestock as well.

Investigation deemed the fire not suspicious, but noted that the machine was used earlier in the day.
