Officials: Pandemic losses mean budget cuts in Auburn

The loss of sales tax revenue is going to leave a mark.

It’s not a unique situation. In fact, it’s the same one communities are seeing play out around the Finger Lakes and Upstate New York.

City Manager Jeff Dygert told Finger Lakes News Radio that the losses could mean that the City of Auburn need to dip into its rainy day fund.

As of last week more than $1.8 million in cuts had been proposed for the general fund. More could be necessary as specifics roll out.
