A pair of Florida residents were arrested for allegedly stealing a dog, electronics, and other items from an apartment in Auburn.
Police say Collena Monique Johnson, 36, and Jamie Lynwood Murray Sr., 37, broke into an apartment on Wall Street on Tuesday.
The whole incident unfolded around 7:30 p.m.
One of the residents reported the burglary when they saw the door had been kicked open.
A nearby witness provided enough information to police, which allowed officers to make an arrest. A pit bull was among the belongings taken from the home. The dog was found safe, according to police.
Johnson and Murray were charged with second-degree burglary and held at the Cayuga County Jail.
