The Ontario County Historical Society has a new executive director.
Historical Society Board of Trustees President Chris Hubler said Canandaigua resident Marci Diehl was selected to replace Ed Varno, who will retire this summer.
The expectation is that the Historical Society will be able to reopen in late-May or early-June. However, there’s no guarantee on that fact.
“We believe that Marci will be a great asset to the society,” Historical Society Board of Trustees President Chris Hubler told the Finger Lakes Times. “Her experiences, community involvement and love of local history will make her an effective leader.”
In a post to Facebook, Diehl shared her excitement.
“Thrilled, honored, excited, happy … I love this community and am grateful for the board’s trust in me to lead one of the area’s best assets into the future,” she said.
