Many local ice cream shops have opened for the season, but done so with a new set of rules.
For Reese’s Dairy Bar, which is located on Route 5 near Auburn, they had to open with new rules and new owners.
“With more time, people became more accustomed to social distancing. It became a habit,” Penny Mills told The Citizen. “I see that as people come here. They’re very conscious, patient and respectful.”
They sanitize surfaces, and ask patrons to distance when necessary – like any business operating during the pandemic – but aside from that it was an exciting opening day for them.
That happened on Sunday, and now, the ice cream shop’s new owners hope to continue operation through the summer.
