Governor Andrew Cuomo said it will take an army to reopen New York.
Earlier in the week, the Governor announced the regional approach that had been suggested by a number of people.
That said, the army New York will need to get the state running again will be ‘tracers’. They will track down people who have interacted with those who have tested positive for COVID-19 and will ensure that they isolate to prevent the spread of the disease.
Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg will be using his wealth to assist in the effort apparently.
The goal is to conduct 40,000 tests per day in the coming weeks. That would be nearly twice what the state is producing at this time.
Meanwhile, the economic impact has been significant. The response alone has cost upwards of $2.8 billion.
