Six juveniles charged with robbery at Dobbins’ Drugs in Lyons

A local drug store operator is speaking out after his store was robbed.

State Police are investigating the incident, which is said to have happened on April 9th during the overnight hours.

The following morning, the pharmacist at Dobbins’ Drugs located on William Street in Lyons, called Sean Dobbins.

The store had been broken in to and several bins from the pharmacy were missing.

“These were stupid kids. They had no idea what they were taking, and no clue that businesses like ours have security systems and cameras,” Dobbins said.

Approximately $3,000 worth of random narcotics were stolen.

“I have to say I am very disappointed in ADT, for non-activation of the motion detection system I paid for,” Dobbins told The Times of Wayne County. He has since improved his security system and reinforced doors and access areas.

Police arrested six juvenile offenders, who forced entry through a basement door. Two 17-year-olds were arrested along with four others who were 14- and 15-years-old.

All were charged with third-degree burglary.

Surveillance footage ultimately allowed police to identify the suspects.
