Police: Juvenile was chasing another person through Ithaca with a gun

On Saturday at approximately 6 p.m. police were called to the area of 150 W. Village Place, Abbot Lane, and the 600 block of Chestnut Street for the report of a person being chased by another who was brandishing a gun.

Officers arrived and attempted to locate the persons involved and investigate those reports.

One person was eventually located and detained in the area with the help of the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office.

During the investigation, a loaded handgun was recovered. The person detained is a juvenile, according to police.

They will not be releasing any additional information about the person.

Police say there were no reports of anyone being hurt in connection to this incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ithaca Police Department.
