Victor natives give back by making masks for those who need them

Victor natives Hayley Alden and Colleen Salzburg love to craft. When the two realized that they could combine that desire to craft, with helping others – an idea dawned on them.

At 22 years old, Alden has organized a team of about 14 local volunteers who are working tirelessly to make headbands to help healthcare workers feel more comfortable wearing their protective face masks, 13WHAM reports.

“I was sitting and watching and saw the number keep going up and up and up,” said Hayley, “I was in awe, I said ‘Colls-I did a thing.'”

The original post has been liked nearly 100,000 times on social media.

“The notes that they’re [medical professionals] are leaving are why we keep doing this,” Salzburg said. “It’s just incredible, and so are the generous donations we get so we can keep this going.”
