Is today the day your stimulus check arrives?
Those payments for $1,200 or $2,400 for single- and joint-filers are expected to start going out on Thursday. That’s at least when the first wave will go out.
The first group of Americans who will receive the cash are people who have already given their bank account information to the IRS.
That will likely mean people who have already filed their taxes for this year, or last. Social security beneficiaries who have direct deposit will also be among the first to receive the check.
Federal officials say that realistically, most people won’t receive their stimulus checks until next week.
In addition to the $1,200 and $2,400 – each dependent under 17 will add a $500 bonus for those who have children.
