Officials in Seneca County say a food distribution event will happen on Friday, April 10th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the County Office Building in Waterloo. A second distribution event is scheduled for Tuesday, April 14th from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the South Seneca Central School in Ovid.
The County is partnering with Foodlink and the Ovid Federated Church to provide a community-wide food distribution to supply households with a 25-lb box of emergency food in response to the COVID-19 public health crisis.
A similar pair of events is happening in Yates County.
Here are the requirements:
– Pre-registration: Call 315-539-1705 to register. Those registrations will happen on a first-come first-served basis.
– The drive-through model will be used. Clients must stay in their car at all times, and put a piece of paper with first and last name of registration – along with a confirmation number on a window facing out for staff to see. The confirmation number will be given over the phone.
– Organizers ask that drivers have their trunk cleaned out so a box of emergency food can be placed inside. Once the trunk is closed and tapped the driver will be able to pull away.
– No walk-ups or non-registered households will be served. This is why pre-registration is so important.
