Social Security recipients will get stimulus from Treasury Department

Social Security Commissioner Andrew Saul provided an update on COVID relief funds, which will be deposited or sent to social security recipients in the coming weeks.

The Department of Treasury will make automatic payments to Social Security beneficiaries. Those payments will come by check or direct deposit.

Those who receive Social Security do not need to file an abbreviated tax return to receive their payment.

The IRS and Social Security websites will continue to be updated.
