Purple Heart Wall of Honor unveiling postponed in Waterloo

The Village of Waterloo’s Purple Heart Wall of Honor unveiling event, honoring the brave armed services members who received the distinguished Purple Heart award, has been postponed.

The event was originally scheduled for May 30th. A new date has not yet been set.

“Based on the current COVID-19 circumstances and situation, the Village will postpone this event in the best interest of the public, the attendees traveling from afar and living recipients,” said Mayor O’Connor. “I cannot emphasize enough how wonderful it has been to watch the community come together for this initiative. The Village received over 70 nominee applications. This will surely be an exciting upcoming event and I would like to personally thank everyone involved with this most humbling initiative.”

Honorees are set to be memorialized through both this local tribute, and in the National Purple Heart Hall of Honor.
