New York may not have enough money to pay all the unemployment claims being filed

Could New York run out of money before it can pay out all the unemployment claims that have been coming its direction?

Apparently, it’s a possibility.

A recent report found that New York ranks 49th out of 50 states in available funds to pay unemployment claims.

The report found nearly half the states across the U.S. may not have enough funds to pay all the unemployment claims.

Here in New York state, people filed 369,000 claims last week.

This comes after two weeks of issues on the Department of Labor’s website, for those who have attempted to file.
